Last Week and This Week’s Info

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:01 am by melissabonches

Hey peps,

So sorry I didn’t update last week. As I said earlier on the show today, I suffer from carpel tunnel and my wrists were really hurting so it made it difficult for me to type.

Anyways, last week we discussed the earthquake that happened in Italy.

I promised I’d pass along a link on how to protect yourself if an earthquake strikes and it’s rather easy to find information on natural disasters. Here’s the link I found: http://www.ehow.com/how_1242_protect-yourself-during.html

Today’s Recap

Posted in Blog at 2:52 am by melissabonches

This is probably my fourth yogurt of the day.  (That was so random)…and here we go.

Talking today about April Fools. Did you fool anyone good??? I did. I got my boyfriend and some of my friends today by posting on Facebook saying I was pregnant! HAHAHA!!! I got phone calls, text messages, responses to my post. lol. It was funny and fun. Probably the most successful April Fools I’ve ever done.

Here are some of the best celebrity pranks of all times: http://tv.yahoo.com/blog/best-celebrity-pranks–215

Another topic today was that of Thalia and her desire to become a mom for the second time. I had NO idea this woman has Lyme Desease (a desease you get when bitten by a tick with the virus that affects the nerve system) and I’ve honestly been wondering about the woman for weeks now.

Thalia

Thalia

Here’s her latest on People en Español: http://www.peopleenespanol.com/pespanol/articles/0,22490,1888597,00.html?xid=rss-news

And now, the latest worm to attack our computers…Conficker! It may very well be another April Fool’s joke considering it’s been “released” today but who the heck knows? These tech savvy peps don’t even know exactly what this worm could do to our computers but they have some suspicion. Click on the following link to find out more about this new worm and how to protect yourself AND your sensitive data! http://www.symantec.com/norton/theme.jsp?themeid=conficker_worm

And now for another annoying news. How NINE people are responsible for over 2,700 visits to the ER in Austin, TX during the span of 6 years costing US TAXPAYERS $3 MILLION DOLLARS!!! Ugh, this is so unfair and crazy. Most of them are drug abusers, some were homeless and others had mental problems. I personally think that they need to give sometimes a limit to people on how many visits to the ER could one go. I mean, I think the only ones that really had no choice were the homeless and the ones with mental problems but the drug abusers???!!! GO TO REHAB!!! Sorry for being so unsensitive about this but it just makes me angry how some people just don’t care! These drug abusers (most of them anyways) don’t care about anything but the drug. They put themselves in these situations and then don’t know how to get out of it but then seek help for a week then go back to their old habits and then back to the ER again. It’s a cycle and it’s tireing! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090401/ap_on_re_us/frequent_er_patients

Last but not least was my problem with a credit card company and them putting a Levi on my account ilegally! I will post a full blog about that and show you the steps YOU need to take if you’re ever in that situation!

How missed appointments gave birth to an idea

Dan Kivatinos & Michael Nusimow, founders of DrChrono.com

Hello folks,

I think we can all relate to “doctors missed appointments” at some point in our lives. We all try to reach the receptionist and all we get is that “please wait, you’re call will be answered in the order it was received” crap. It’s very annoying and I can’t ever stand it. For that reason alone, I don’t see my doctor as often as I should to avoid the darn phone call that would ultimately make my day “annoying”.

That all has potentially changed now since the launch of the new web based appointment for doctors site http://www.drchrono.com. Mike Nusimow and Dan Kivatinos launched the site recently and have already been featured in great PR gateways such as CNBC and Inc. Magazine. The question remains “what is Dr. Chrono?”.

Dr. Chrono is simply this: a way to connect doctors with patients using the latest technology glued in an all-in-one web service package. What this means is if you would like to schedule your next appointment with Dr. Joe Smith, you don’t ever have to call the office anymore. All you have to do is go to http://www.drchrono.com, check Dr. Smith’s calendar and vuala! you’ve created your next appointment. No phone calls necessary.

Still, is this a service I really want or need? My answer is absolutely! You want it because if you’re a doctor, it’s easier for your patients to connect with you for appointments, easier for your receptionist to manage your calendar and easier to have all the tools you need instead of buying expensive hardware every few years and expensive software which could cost a fortune to maintain. Don’t forget to mention, MORE than one software and all these services are available in different software’s but Dr. Chrono provides them all together in one website for a small fee.

If you’re a patient, you enjoy this service because it cuts down on time to connect with your doctor to make a simple appointment. It’s as easy as that.

So, tonight I was able to chat with both of them to learn more about them and their company. We spoke about entrepreneurship and how they came about on getting such awesome publicity such as CNBC and Dan said “We took a course, it’s called FastTrac and it’s provided by the organization Kauffman Foundation and we made a lot of connections just by taking that [FastTrac] course.”

The Kauffman Foundation’s website is http://www.kauffman.org/ and you can check their schedule for their next 10 week FastTrac course. Don’t be so quick in signing up but don’t be quick in not signing up either, the course is a whopping $1,000. However, if you are serious about your business, you should indeed check out FastTrac and help determine if this is the “course” you want to take with your career and business.

Dan and Mike have been working hard on their start-up company for months now and have accomplished a lot in the few months they’ve been networking. To view some articles featuring them and to learn more about Dr. Chrono, visit the following sites:

And the Oscar goes to…Heath Ledger and Kate Winslet!

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:41 am by melissabonches

Us at The Oscars Event in NYC

Us at The Oscars Event in NYC

Last night I was with my partner Kat at New York City’s “Le Poisson Rouge” and it was absolutely fabulous! They had an amazing 15 foot tall screen projecting the Oscars as well as beautiful tables and chairs with a wonderful wait staff and food. They even had a guy dressed as an Oscar right outside the venue that I honestly thought it was real.

I’m very happy to announce that people all over the country INCLUDING Canada tuned in last night to try and get a glimse of us ladies showing you Le Poisson Rouge as well as discuss The Red Carpet. I say “try” because they turned down the lights at the venue so much that it was hard to see us. We appologized for that.

Finally my girl Kate has won her overdue Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. I’ve been following her career since “Sense and Sensibility”  and I must say the Academy has finally gotten it right with her.

I was rooting for her at the Oscars simply because I know her work and I know in my mind she is the best although I cannot argue that Meryl Streep is indeed “THE Actress” in Hollywood that can do anything. I simply love Kate for her style, role choices and personality.

Another big win for me at least was our darling Heath Ledger. I simply loved that man. He was an amazing actor and challenged himself more than most actors of our generation. I’m saddened that this wonderful actor died at such a young age. We are the same age and now he’s gone. Life is just too short.

His family gave a heartbreaking speech and everyone in the room was very quiet. It almost made me cry. I said to Kat “If Heath doesn’t win this award I will be sooooo upset!” then the moment came and they said “And the Oscar goes to…Heath Ledger!” I was so anxious to know and almost cried.

Penélope Cruz probably gave the most emotional speech of the night. She was the first award and the one that stood out the most. Kat started to cry (she’s a huge fan and also because of her speech) and I had a big knot in my throat. I’m glad a Spanish woman won. Hollywood is definetly changing!

Did you see how the camera crew panned over to Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt when Jennifer Aniston was presenting??? That’s such a stupid thing to do but the tension was definetly there. Why can’t the media just let that go?! I feel like we are forever intwined in a “Melrose Place” reality show thanks to the Brangelina and Aniston drama. Oh gawd!

Slumdog Millionaire seems to be the movie I MUST see before this year is over. After all, it is the Movie Of The Year deemed by The Academy.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, go to our front page and view the photage we obtained of the Red Carpet. It’s pretty cool and you get to see some of the fashio and stars of the night.

Well that’s it for now peps. Join us this Wednesday for further discussion. :)

Woman Says “I Do” 23 Times??!!!

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:50 pm by melissabonches

Ay madre! Esta señora se ha casado 23 VECES!!! Que es eso??!!! y dice que se casaría nuevamente por que se siente sola. Wow! Casarte tantas veces…yo creo que esa señora tiene problemitas de amor. I don’t think she understands the concept of a relationship. It’s hard enough for me to know I’ve been divorced ONCE, let alone 23!!! Que ustedes creen? Facebook

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:26 am by melissabonches

I’m really angry that Facebook thinks they can just own everything that’s posted on their site. Sure, it’s THEIR site but it’s OUR content! They opened Facebook so that we could communicate with the world. As an artist, I find that really disturbing because I don’t think it’s fair that my music belongs to them simply because I posted it to SHARE with my friends on the web!

Be sure to tune in at 9pm EDT tonight because I’ll be sure to discuss this topic!

xoxo,

Melissa
